Half Dwelling House - Half a house intended to be occupied as a residence, in distinction from a store, office, or other building. See also Semi Detached.
Hazard Insurance - Insurance policy placed on property improvement that covers damage by fire or other natural causes.
Hedging - Investing in an asset to reduce the overall risk of a portfolio.
Historical Cost - The cost of a building when first constructed.
Home Inspection - A thorough inspection that evaluates the structural and mechanical condition of a property. A satisfactory home inspection is often included as a contingency by the purchaser. Contrast with appraisal.
House - General definition for a built property, which doesn't describe the type of property itself. Can be a villa, apartment, etc.
